WCHA ref reportedly arrested for airport bomb threat

The Grand Forks Herald first made the connection that the Peter Friesema arrested Sunday morning is a WCHA referee.

He was arrested for making a bomb threat at Ted Stevens International Airport early Sunday morning after the official worked the Alaska-Canisius game in the season-opening Kendall Hockey Classic.

The Anchorage Daily News reported that the airport was evacuated for about three hours and that the threat was determined to be non-credible.
