Air Force announces hockey schedule

The schedule for the upcoming season for Air Force hockey was announced on Tuesday, with an exhibition game against the University of Alberta at 5:05 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, starting the campaign off.

The Falcons open regular season play at home against Denver on Friday, Oct. 12, at 7:05 p.m., followed by the lone game against crosstown rival Colorado College at The Broadmoor World Arena on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Along with DU and CC, the nonconference schedule includes a home series with Bemidji State, Dec. 29-30, and two games in the second annual Ice Vegas Invitational, Jan. 4-5, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The Falcons join Connecticut, St. Lawrence and Western Michigan in the two-day tournament.

Air Force is coming off one of the most successful seasons in school history, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second straight year and the third time in school history. To do so, AFA recorded its first program win over the nation’s No. 1 team, St. Cloud State.

Every game will be broadcast live in Colorado Springs on Xtra Sports AM 1300.
