UPDATED: North Dakota team, fans and media stranded by blizzard

und-logoWith a two-hour sun delay and a coolant leak, the outdoor game in Omaha had its share of delays. It was just starting for North Dakota, which can at least take solace in coming home with two wins.

Even that was delayed.

According to the Grand Forks Herald, UND spent Saturday night in Summit, S.D., because of poor road conditions. As of Sunday afternoon, the team was stranded in Sisseton.

Interstate 29 was closed from Watertown to Fargo, stranding a large number of fans who made the trip to Omaha for the two-game WCHA series. Fans and Herald staffers are stranded in Sioux Falls along with others in Brookings, Summit, Watertown or Sisseton.

Update: The UND team arrived in Grand Forks late Monday afternoon.
