Thursday reading: Crabb, Hansen, Schwartz, Rapuzzi, WMU, UNO

cc__w_rapuzzi-0318Here is a feature on the four Alaskan NHL players on the ECHL Alaska Aces team this season, including former Tiger Joey Crabb.

Future Tiger Matt Hansen has 15 points (nine assists) in 16 games for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs of the BCHL. He opened the season with the USHL Omaha Lancers (one assist, four games).

Nine schools are represented among the top 11 scorers in Division I, with Colorado College (Rylan Schwartz and William Rapuzzi) and St. Lawrence (Kyle Flanagan and Greg Carey) the only teams with two. Nine of the 11 players are juniors or seniors, with sophomores Johnny Gaudreau (BC) and Austin Czarnik (Miami) the only exceptions.

Western Michigan freshman defenseman Kenney Morrison, a player Tiger fans will get to know better next season, is featured.

Nebraska Omaha announced its five signed letters of intent, including Jake Guentzel, who is a nice kid. I got to talk to him a bit during a visit last season.
