Thanksgiving reading: NCHC, UND, UM, CC, UNH, Denver, CCHA

First off, health and happiness to all this Thanksgiving.

Eleven of the top 30 NHL Draft-eligible players in the USHL are headed to the National Collegiate Hockey Conference, including CC’s Gustav Olofsson.

Here is an update from North Dakota and Minnesota, including future scheduling possibilities with Boston College. Here is this week’s WCHA column with my items on the NHL Draft, the spotlight series, players of the week, and DU coach George Gwozdecky on the lookout for overconfidence from his team.

The Gazette previews this weekend for No. 14 Colorado College. No. 3 New Hampshire’s excellent defense is the subject of this week’s Hockey East column. The Wildcats play CC on Friday and No. 2 Denver on Saturday.

DU beat writer Mike Chambers opines about how the Denver offense has improved despite losing three forwards to the pros this past offseason.
