WCHA roundup: North Dakota enjoys rare Friday win

No. 6 North Dakota 3, No. 15 St. Cloud State 0

SAINT CLOUD — Junior netminder Clarke Saunders made 32 saves to earn his second shutout of the season as North Dakota earned a 3-0 win against St. Cloud State on Friday evening at National Hockey Center.

It is the first time since 1998 that North Dakota won on a Friday at SCSU. UND will go for its 11th Saturday win in a row at SCSU tonight.

No. 2 Minnesota 4, Alaska-Anchorage 0

ANCHORAGE — Sophomore forward Kyle Rau scored two goals and freshman goaltender Adam Wilcox made 14 saves to lead Minnesota to a 4-0 win against Alaska Anchorage on Friday night at Sullivan Arena.

No. 3 Denver 4, Minnesota State 3

MANKATO — Daniel Doremus, Shawn Ostrow and Nolan Zajac each had a goal and an assist to help the Denver Pioneers capture a 4-3 win against the Minnesota State Mavericks on Friday night at Verizon Wireless Center.
