MANKATO – Senior forward Chris Knowlton of Colorado Springs scored two goals, including the game-winner at 16:48 of the third period, to lead Denver to a 3-2 victory against Minnesota State on Saturday at Verizon Wireless Center. The Pioneers (7-1, 5-1 WCHA) pulled off its second league sweep this season, setting up a showdown with No. 19 Colorado College (7-3, 4-0 WCHA) this weekend in Denver and Colorado Springs
No. 15 St. Cloud State 5, No. 6 North Dakota 2
ST. CLOUD — Senior forward Drew LeBlanc registered two goals and an assist to lead St. Cloud State to a 5-2 victory against North Dakota on Saturday night at National Hockey Center. It was UND’s first Saturday loss at SCSU in 10 years. North Dakota recorded its first Friday win in St. Cloud since 1998 the night before.
Nebraska-Omaha 3, No. 20 Minnesota-Duluth 2
OMAHA, Neb. – Defenseman Michael Young scored a third-period powerplay goal to send the Omaha hockey team to a hard-fought 3-2 win over Minnesota Duluth on Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center. It was the third win in a row for the Mavericks who improved to 5-3-1 overall and 3-1-1 in the WCHA. The Bulldogs are now winless in their last four games, falling to 2-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 in league play. The two teams conclude the series with a Sunday matinee at 2:07 p.m.
