CC leads 2-1 after two power-play goals

Colorado College’s power play continued to click for two goals which is especially impressive considering Bemidji State’s penalty kill was No. 3 in Division I headed into Saturday’s game.

Scott Winkler tracked down a rebound, spun and fired a low shot past BSU sophomore goalie Andrew Walsh with 6:34 left in the period to tie the game at 1-1 after an earlier goal by BSU freshman Cory Ward more than two minutes earlier.

CC defenseman Mike Boibin banged in a reound off a shot by William Rappuzzi a little more than tow minutes later for the 2-1 lead headed into first intermission.

The BSU penalty kill was an impressive 17-of-18 coming into the game including a 2-for-2 performance against the Tigers on Friday. They are now 17-for-20, which is still pretty darn good.
