Cornell leads 1-0 headed into third

Colorado College fell behind when John Esposito banged in a rebound during a 5-on-3 power play with six seconds left in the second period. As a result, the Tigers (3-1) trail 1-0 headed into the third period in a hard-fought physical contest at No. 7 Cornell (0-0).

Cornell came close to taking the lead when Craig McCarron’s shot clanged off the cross bar with 8:15 left in the second and when CC goalie Josh Thorimbert stoned junior Dustin Mowrey a minute later with a huge save on a breakaway.
