FAIRBANKS — Chad Gehon scored 3:02 into the third period and the host Nanooks killed off two penalties, including one in the final 57 seconds that led to a 6-on-4 North Dakota advantage, to hold on for a 2-1 win over second–ranked UND.

Nanooks goalie Scott Thompson (2-0) finished with 25 save while North Dakota junior Clarke Saunders (1-1) made 30.
