There were only three games that counted this past weekend but the results affected the weekly poll.
Boston College remained No. 1, but Merrimack’s season-opening win over then-No. 5 Union and Quinnipiac’s road win over then-No. 15 Maine this past weekend shaking up the bottom five of the USCHO.com poll.
No. 18 Quinnipiac and No. 19 Merrimack’s appearance in the Top 20, pushed Colorado College and Air Force out. CC is rated just ahead of the Falcons in receiving votes.
No. 2 Minnesota received 12-first-place votes, well behind BC’s 37, an increase of two from the week before. Third-ranked Michigan had the other first-place vote out of the 50 voters. North Dakota remained No. 4.
No. 5 Cornell, Massachusetts-Lowell, Denver, Miami and No. 9 Western Michigan all moved up one spot from the preseason poll last week with Union dropping from fifth to 10th.
