Thursday reading: NCAA expansion into Canada, Wisconsin lines, UND center ice

This columnist talks about how NCAA Division I hockey could find some new homes in Canada with the NCAA admitting British Columbia’s Simon Fraser into the organization recently. The team only plays club hockey but it could now consider a move up to varsity hockey.

If anything, its jerseys with “SFU” could prove to be a popular item for smart-aleck fans. The University of British Columbia, CC’s exhibition foe in early October, would be a strong candidate to move into NCAA hockey if it wished but a lot of dominoes must fall first for that to happen.

Bucky’s Fifth Quarter talks about the Wisconsin lines and even looks into who would be on the power-play unit in this blog post.

The new center ice ice logo for Ralph Englestad Arena is being put in place and most North Dakota fans are less than pleased.
