In the pros: Fredheim, Prosser sent down to AHL Houston

One day after their season finale, the 12th-place Minnesota Wild (35-36-11) on Sunday sent four defensemen back to the American Hockey League.

Reassigned to the Houston Aeros were former Tigers Kris Fredheim (No. 7 at left) and Nate Prosser, former North Dakota standout Chay Genoway and Marco Scandella.

Prosser recently signed a two-year NHL-only contract extension but remains under a two-way deal for the rest of this season, prompting the Wild brass’ move to bolster the Aeros’ weakening playoff chances.
