Nelson puts Sioux ahead late in second

ST. PAUL –North Dakota’s Brock Nelson scored his 24th of the year with 4:09 left to put the Sioux ahead 2-1 going into the third period in Thursday night’s quarterfinal at the Xcel Energy Center,

St. Cloud State’s Ben Hanowski scored on a power play with 3:46 left in the first period to tie the game at 1-1 against No. 4 seed North Dakota headed into first intermission. Hanowski blasted a pass from Nic Dowd, sending Sioux goalie Aaron Dell’s water bottle flying.

UND’s Corban Knight scored early ergy Center.the period on a deflection off a Huskies defender for an early 1-0 lead although SCSU.
