Tigers tie up physical contest at 2-2

CC sophomore Jaden Schwartz jumpstarted the Tigers with a highlight-reel goal, weaving around two Denver defenders and beating DU goalie Juho Olkinuora high stick side with a hard-angle wrist shot to make it 2-1.

CC rode that momentum for a while, tying the game with a Jeff Collett power-play goal a couple minutes later.

A physical game continued to take its toll with Denver’s Chris Knowlton leaving the game with a left shoulder injury after he collided with CC goalie Josh Thorimbert, who also left the game.

Those injuries came after CC captain Nick Dineen left the game with an injury in the first period.
