No goalie controversy for AFA, for the moment

There’s no looming goalie controversy for Air Force coach Frank Serratore, even if sophomore Jason Torf is healthy enough to take on nonconference city rival No. 5 Colorado College.

Senior Stephen Caple will get the start Dec. 30 against the Tigers.

“We owe it to him,” Serratore said. “He’s been solid. We’ll need to step it up as a team in the second half.”

Caple, who has filled in for Torf since he tore a groin muscle during openngn weekend, is 9-2-2 with 2.10 goals against and a .912 saves percentage for the Falcons (9-4-2, 8-2-1 Atlantic Hockey Association).
