Updated Tuesday reading: Bachman, Holmstrom, Rau, J. Schwartz (videos)

Former Tiger Richard Bachman continues to win in the NHL, improving to 4-1 with a 5-3 win over Anaheim Monday night.

Here’s the recap and link to video highlights. ESPN is adding to the buzz about Bachman. It looks like he has a good chance of seizing the Dallas No. 2 job by Christmas as hoped.

Colorado Springs native Ben Holmstrom recorded nine minutes of ice time against Colorado in the Flyers’ 3-2 loss at the Avs Monday night. It was his third NHL game.

Chad Rau was a healthy scratch for the Wild in a 4-0 loss to Vancouver Monday night. Rau is still waiting to make his NHL debut. His next chance may be Tuesday night at Calgary.

CC sophomore Jaden Schwartz was one of three Canadians to wear an “A” on his jersey in a 3-1 exhibition win over Finland Friday night. No team captain has been named, yet for the world juniors team.

He garners big-time praise from TSN “as the best Canadian on the ice” in this video, which includes his assist on the game-winner.

There’s a video interview with him on the first link with him sporting a small cut on his right cheekbone. The Canadians play exhibitions against Switzerland on Thursday and Sweden Friday before the tournament starts this weekend.
